Putten baptism book, with the baptism of Aaltje Teunisse van ‘t Land
A page from the Putten baptism book, with baptisms from 1767. In the middle of the page is Aaltje, daughter of Theunis Harmse and Grietje Johannesse, from Huynen (nowadays known as Huinen), a hamlet near Putten. She was baptized on 8 March 1767.
Aaltje’s surname is not listed on the page. Maybe the family did not use it yet, at the time, or maybe it was just not written down. From later records I know the surname is Van ‘t Land.
Aaltje van ‘t Land (1767-1853) is my 5th great-grandmother. I descend from her son Jacob Prins, probably the only child from her first marriage with Pieter Prins (1768-1796).
Aaltje’s parents are Teunis Harmse and Grietje Johannesse. I found their marriage in the marriage book of Putten, at the bottom of the scan below:
