Death certificate of Gijsbertje Kloppenburg

Death certificate of Gijsbertje Kloppenburg, my 3rd great-grandmother: On last sixteenth of May [1879], in the morning at twelve, in the house at the Loosdrechtsche Eind, passed away at the age of fifty six, Gijsbertje Kloppenburg, no occupation, born and living in [Hilversum], last widow of Willem van Laren, before of Jan Weduwer, daughter of Jan Kloppenburg and Tijmetje van der Linden, both deceased.

In 1883, there was an addition written in the margin: Before [widow] of Antonius Ramselaar and first of Jan Bollebakker.

Indeed, Gijsbertje married four times, though the order in this death certificate is wrong (the first two are reversed): She married Antonius Ramselaar in 1847, Jan Bollebakker (my 3rd great-grandfather) in 1851, Johannes Weduer in 1866, and Willem van Laren in 1870. I guess the addition of the first two spouses in the margin was at the request of one of her children, who probably needed proof that their mother passed away.

Gijsbertje’s death was registered by her son Antonius Ramselaar and her son-in-law (and my 2nd great-grandfather) Rijk Houthuijzen. The latter signed the death certificate, the former was unable to write.
