Gathering dust: Overlijdenskaartje

On Saturdays I rummage through my old cabinet, pull out and dust off an item, and present it here on Roots. I also have the overlijdenskaartje of Attje’s husband, Jakob Melessen, who passed...

Church Sunday: Groningen

The A-Kerk (litt. A-Church) is the smaller of two surviving medieval churches in Groningen. The church is also known as the Der Aa-kerk (of the Aa church), and that...
