Vondel Park

The Vondel Park (or Vondelpark) is a large city park in the Dutch city Amsterdam. With around ten million visitors per year, it is one of the most popular parks in the country.

The park opened in 1865. Two years later, the statue of poet Joost van den Vondel was placed in the park, and since then, the park is known as Vondel Park.

The park is home to the film theater of the Dutch film museum, an open air theater, and several cafes.
