Church Sunday: Blaricum

Among the family papers in my possession is an album with postcards of Dutch churches, collected by my grandfather. Most of the cards are from the 1930s. On Sundays, I post cards from this collection in the series Church Sunday. Today: The Dutch Reformed Church of Blaricum.

The Dorpskerk (village church) of Blaricum, in the province Noord-Holland. The church dates from the early 16th (or possibly late 15th) century. The year 1512 is engraved on one of the church bells.

The church was heavily damaged by fire in 1696, but quickly restored afterwards. It was renovated in 1869 and 1934. The church organ was placed during the last renovation.

The church building is still in use by the Dutch Protestant Church.
