Marriage of Hendrick Lubbeking and Cornelia Bongars

Marriage of Hendrick Lubbeking and Cornelia Bongars

This is a page of a marriage book of one of the Dutch Reformed churches of Amsterdam, listing marriages that took place on 31 March 1705. At the bottom you see the names Hendrik Lubekingh and Cornelia Bongars, my 7th great-grandparents. There is not a lot of information here: Just their names and the date. But fortunately there is more information available:

Marriage banns registration of Hendrick Lubbeking and Cornelia Bongars

This certificate is from a book of Amsterdam marriage banns registrations. It has their names: Hendrik Lubekingh and Cornelia Bongers (note that both names are spelled slightly different from the marriage listing), but also Hendrik’s occupation (bakker, baker), their addresses (Hendrik at the Uijterse Straat, Cornelia at the Corte Koningsstraat), and the name of Hendrik’s previous spouse (Helena Groen). Cornelia was accompanied by her mother, Margrietie Amelenbergh. And both spouses signed the document (as Hinrich Lubeking and Cornelia Bongars).
