The Merwede Canal (or Merwedekanaal) in the Dutch town Nieuwegein. The blue bridge in the background is aptly named Blauwe Brug, or Blue Bridge.
This tower, built in the 1980s, has become one of the landmarks of the Dutch town Nieuwegein, a new town largely built in the 1970s. The tower is part of a district heating plant which takes care of the heating of a large part of the town.
