Lage Vuursche cemetery

A small graveyard, next to a small village church, in the village Lage Vuursche. It’s been in use for a while, people have been buried in and around the church since the 17th century. The really old graves are probably gone, but I did see a few 19th century graves here. There are also a couple of brand new graves: The cemetery is still in use.

Recently HRH prince Friso, son of former Queen Beatrix and brother of King Willem Alexander, was buried in Lage Vuursche, but my photos date from long before the royal funeral.

The epitaph on the entrance gate, by the way, is Zalig zijn de doden die in de Heere sterven (Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord).

I’ll post photos of individual graves soon.
