The marriage certificate of my 3rd great-grandparents, Volkert van Kampen and Maria Hogenbirk. A summary:
Volkert van Kampen, weaver, 24, born in ‘s-Graveland, resident here [in Hilversum], son of Cornelis van Kampen, factory worker, and Lijsje Scheepmaker, both residents [of Hilversum]; and Maria Hogenbirk, seamstress, 24, born in and resident of [Hilversum], daughter of Gerrit Hogenbirk, weaver, and Marretje Scheepmaker, both residents [of Hilversum]. The parents are present and consent to this marriage. The marriage took place on 26 July 1834 in Hilversum, in the presence of witnesses Gijsbert Reijn, weaver, 56; Willem Holdorp, weaver, 45; Gerbert Hogenbirk, weaver, 28; and Casparus Feddis, weaver, 25; all residents of Hilversum. All except Willem Holdorp and Casparus Feddis signed the certificate.
