Dijkman family grave, Catholic Cemetery, Wijk bij Duurstede
Today’s tombstone is a family grave. The stone is not original, maybe it is placed at the last funeral but possibly even later. Buried here are Johannes Hen(d)ricus Dijkman, his wife Clasina Theodora Mientjes, their children Cornelis Franciscus, Johannes Frederikus Andreas and Fredericus Johannes Anthonius, and their grandson Andreas Franciscus Jacobus Aloysius (André).
A partial family reconstruction, based on the tombstone inscription and public records:
Johannes Hendricus Dijkman, son of Johannes Albertus Dijkman and Cornelia Johanna van de Grind, was born on 27 August 1864 in Wijk bij Duurstede, and died on 9 January 1935 in Wijk bij Duurstede. He married Clasina Theodora Mientjes, daughter of Wilhelmus Everhardus Mientjes and Margaretha Cornelia van den Bosch, on 27 August 1895 in Valburg. She died on 10 April 1933 in Wijk bij Duurstede.
They had at least the following children (there may be others):
- Johannes Frederikus Andreas, born on 30 November 1896 in Wijk bij Duurstede, died on 22 November 1952 in Wijk bij Duurstede.
- Wilhelmus Petrus Vincentius, born on 21 January 1898 in Wijk bij Duurstede. He married Elisabeth Wilhelmina Maria Zwanikken. Their son Andreas Franciscus Jacobus Aloysius (born in 1935, died on 18 August 1945 in Vreeswijk) also seems to be buried here.
- Theodorus Albertus Henricus, born on 6 April 1899 in Wijk bij Duurstede. He married Magdalena Loe (from Paramaribo, Surinam), daughter of Loe Sack Sioe and Maria Jetje Tjin, on 6 September 1922 in Amsterdam.
- Cornelis Franciscus, born on 23 September 1900 in Wijk bij Duurstede, died on 22 February 1921 in Wijk bij Duurstede.
- Fredericus Johannes Anthonius, born on 30 January 1902 in Wijk bij Duurstede, died in 1968.
- Anthonius Everhardus Petrus Dijkman, born abt 1905. He married Hendrika Elisabeth Hoogstraten, daughter of Cornelis Hermanus Hoogstraten and Elizabeth Johanna Zirkzee, on 11 July 1929 in Zeist.
